CARBONARA CAPE TREKKING
This path (6 km round trip) explores the South/East coast of the Protected Marine Area, from Porto Giunco beach to the end of Carbonara Cape in front of the Cabbage Island. It is a panoramic and airy route which shows the transition between beach and cliff environments, and the hills covered by the Mediterranean scrub. A difference in level of 60 m and slight slopes make it accessible for anyone.
On Tuesday and Friday, departure at 7:45 a.m., return at 12:00 m (in the afternoon from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m). The maximum number of participants is 6. Underage people have to be accompanied by a parent. Meeting point: Cemetery parking of Villasimius or other previously agreed places.

Porto Giunco Beach
We go up the nearby hill to Porto Giunco beach immersed into the dense Mediterranean scrub. Over there, after passing Cava Usai beach (where interesting fossil are to be seen) and overcoming an adjacent hill;

We will get to Carbonara Cape ridge: the path shows unique views, among them interesting fossil dunes. After getting to the end of the Cape and admiring the Cabbage Island

Then, we will go back passing Porto Su Forru cove and Cava Usai old quarries.

Porto Giunco Spanish Tower
Then, we will climb Porto Giunco hill and we will get to the Spanish Tower to enjoy the wonderful view. Finally we will descend to Porto Giunco beach.
